The Circle was founded over 60 years ago with the objective of "getting together a body of advanced philatelists who collect the postal history and stamps of Belgium with a view to collecting all the material and data possible to establish a permanent written record". More recently this objective has been achieved through the publication of our journal "belgapost", which has an international reputation. We also produce occasional monographs and studies by members. Our scope has subsequently expanded to include anyone with an interest in Belgian philately at any level, to encourage and expand their interests, knowledge and enjoyment.
We also aim to preserve the information researched and incorporated into our members' collections in a permanent record for future generations of researchers and collectors.
The Circle was renamed the Belgian Philatelic Study Circle (BPSC) in March 2011 to include an indication of our interests (philately) in our name.
